Metallic Refining

To begin the purification process of scrap gold, we will melt the metal in a furnace with fluxing agents. After thoroughly mixing the molten metal, pin samples are taken for analysis which will determine the content of the precious metals contained.

Karat scrap jewelry with stones? We will remove and clean the stones for return to you. This process is achieved through an acid leach that allows the stones to be removed and cleaned without damaging the stones. Refining lots that contain stones are usually completed within 48 hours.

Metals are priced as follows:
SILVER at the London AM Fix;
GOLD, PALLADIUM and PLATINUM at the London PM Fix

Comex or spot pricing is available upon request

Metal is priced on the next business day once settlement is confirmed. Shipment of metal is normally done via Registered Mail or Federal Express unless other arrangements are made by the customer. Postage fees are billable to the customer.
